Western Vinyl hired The Syndicate in 2017 to introduce Caroline Says with a re-issue of her original cassette only debut album, 50,000,000 Elvis Fans Can’t Be Wrong continuing in 2018 with her follow up album, No Fool Like An Old Fool
The re-issue of 50,000,000 Elvis Fans was originally intended to be a quick, two-month campaign, but the album was met with a tremendous initial response, garnering a ‘Tracks’ review on Pitchfork for the single, “Winter Is Cold” in July 2017, which eventually was picked up by XPN’s ‘World Café’ and played on NPR Music’s ‘All Songs Considered’ podcast in October 2017.
Released in August 2017, the album was reviewed on Pitchfork and on Rollingstone.com.
The follow up album, No Fool Like An Old Fool, was announced in January 2018 with a video for the first single, “Sweet Home Alabama”, premiered on NPR Music.
The single was reviewed by Pitchfork in their TRACKS column.
Taste-maker blog Gorilla vs. Bear premiered the follow up single, “I Tried”, and picked up by numerous sites, including Stereogum.
Stereogum would go on to premiere No Fool Like An Old Fool in full, release week, name the album in their ’50 Best Albums Of 2018 So Far’ column, and recently in their ’40 Best New Bands Of 2018’ column.
Caroline Says was featured on the cover of the Austin Chronicle, featured in the Austin American-Statesman and in Austin Monthly’s ‘2018 Austin Bands To Watch” March issue.
