The Syndicate Design team put together an online installation to launch Spiritualized’s new latest album, Songs In A&E. Spiritualizedharmonies.com allowed users to have an audio/visual experience with the band. The media player became the band’s microsite for the US territory and hosted an exclusive contest to help promote the band’s summer tour and social networking pages.
A panel of experts will select the category winners, as well as Best Of Show and People’s Choice. All winners will be announced during a ceremony in Austin during the SXSW Interactive Festival on March 15th.
Spiritualizedharmonies.com Press Quotes:
“Spiritualized have recently launched an online installation of various audio/video clips spanning their entire career. Harmonies will allow people to experience the band in an audio/visual manner like never before. The site also offers tour info and ticket information. So get ready to float in space with Spiritualized once again.” – Filter Magazine
“The site is like using Windows Media Player through John Lennon’s hookah-fogged glasses. The menu screen appears like some kind of otherworld TV station, and becomes a virtual Spirograph-meets-a-planetarium when you stream the MP3s without the accompanying visual. The new video for the poppy A&E single, “Soul On Fire,” is available for viewing, along with clips for older classics like “Electricity” and “Stop Your Crying.” And unlike say, an accompanying DVD, it’s free!” – CMJ
“But this site is a whole lot better thanthe usual promotional schlock. Motherf*cker is high-tech and high-fi—so much so it choked my poor G4 to death in full-screenmode. But it’s a pretty thing.” – The Portland Mercury
